JOEL BLANKENSHIP
Although I’m a man of many interests, music is how I best relate to the world. This fascination began around the age of 3 or 4 when I first heard Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings coming out of my parents stereo. I would walk around with an old acoustic and pretend to play along. But I was exposed to so much more than country music growing up - from the Beach Boys to Marvin Gaye to Led Zeppelin, I heard it all. Plus, I was a child of the 80’s and grew up with rap playing on MTV. At 14 I seriously started playing guitar. I did this mostly by ear and never really studied music theory, although I do have an rudimentary understanding of it. So now at the age of 40, I’ve decided to seriously develop my voice to accompany my skills on guitar.
PHILIP GRECO
I grew up in Arlington, VA and came to North Carolina to study engineering at NC State. After graduating, I participated in a leadership program here in Raleigh for 9 months called the Raleigh Fellows program. I now work for a software company, 15Five, in the Revenue Operations department (basically we optimize systems and do data things). I took piano lessons as a kid, decided to stop, and picked up guitar in middle school. I’ve been playing guitar since but always wished I had kept going with piano as well, so here I am. Music has been a passion of mine for a while and I have no plans to change that.

Over the past few years there has been very little efforts spent refining his vocal skills. His hope is to continue improving his vocal skills with TJ.
DILLON CASSESSE
I've been playing piano for about a year and a half. My playing is influenced by a lot of blues and pentatonic scaling. My main focus is to improve my compositions to better communicate emotion through sound.

This school year, I auditioned for Moana for our school play and I got the part with the help of Mr. TJ. Sadly we didn’t perform it due to the coronavirus. JIM ST. PIERRE
Hi I’m Jim. I’m 49 years old and I live in Lowell Massachusetts. I’ve loved and been inspired by music all my life. My earliest memories of music, are of my mom and dad listening to their favorites, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Andy Williams. My Dad sang in church choir and in a few small local bands. And, he constantly sang while walking around the house, and driving in the car. My brother who is four years older than me was also a big musical influence. Largely because of him, I grew up listening to classic rock artist like The Beatles, the who, Bruce Springsteen and Pink Floyd. This music is still some of my favorite, although I really listen to a bit of everything. Pop, rock, R&B, hip-hop, jazz, rhythm n blues, country, reggae, and Latin.
I started playing guitar at about the age of 11, and then switched over to drums at 14 years old, when I became best friends with an incredible guitar player who needed a drummer to fill out his band line up. Since then I’ve been playing drums in bands, mostly cover bands, on and off all my life. Once in a while I still get up at a gig and and do a number on guitar. Singing, is a new challenge for me and I’m thankful for my family and friends who are supporting me through this and all life’s challenges.
